Reading Builds Brighter Communities

Mother reading with children at bedtime

Stories, songs and kid-friendly activities await your little one every week at your local library. Tuesday through Thursday, Ventura County LIbraries offer an early literacy class that introduces your child to reading through games, movement, music, and poetry. Also, Los Angeles County Libraries offer a similar reading time Monday through Saturday until March 16th. Children along with caregivers, parents, family and friends are welcome to take advantage of this free and fun activity.

Storytime is said to be one of the best ways for developing language skills. Reading out loud to children can increase: language development, comprehension, and even literary appreciation. Creating an appreciation for reading now can encourage your child to become an avid reader, which leads to increased test scores, and even brighter communities.
